Stations edited with the built-in station editor are automatically normalized.
If you create or modify a station manually (see Gartriage File Format Specifications.pdf), or using an other program, you are greatly encouraged to normalize your collection file.
This option if found in Gartriage, under Menu/File/Normalize. At the keyboard: Alt+F, Z.
Remember: For files edited outside Gartriage, it's a wise habit to keep a copy of the file before normalizing it.
The normalization consists, amongst other things, of:
Cleaning the file of useless spaces and tabs.
Using the same characters for all station definitions: \, |, /,... instead of # and !.
Indenting lines depending on their importance.
Splitting long lines in segments of less than 80 characters.
Adjusting some entries: "Difficulty:", "Author:", "AuthorMail:" and "AuthorPage:".
